EXHIBITION PROPOSALS

 

Send us your proposal by May 2nd, 2025 to be considered for an exhibit at the Chester Art Centre in 2026.

Proposal Submission Criteria:

​

Artists working in all media are invited to submit a proposal. Group exhibition proposals are also accepted. To apply, please submit the following in a single email to info@chesterartcentre.ca with the subject line: "2026 Exhibition Proposal".

Proposal Submission Criteria
Proposals must include the following information in order to be considered. All applicants will receive equal consideration for exhibition without regard to race, ethnicity and sexual orientation, and we strongly encourage applicants from diverse backgrounds to apply.

 

  1. An application cover letter including a title for the show, a clear description of the theme/concept and medium.

  2. An Artist Statement (max 300 words) and a current photo for promotional materials. 

  3. A list of works to be exhibited including artist, title, medium, dimensions, and date of work. If work is not yet completed a list of what is planned for inclusion and images of previous work to give context to your practice. 

  4. 5-10 images of works in jpeg format max. 1024 x 768 resolution. Please title each image file with your name and the artwork title.

  5. A current curriculum vitae for all artists included in the exhibition.

Jury Process

  • Using a peer-review process, a jury will make its selection based on the quality of the work, the overall integrity of the proposal, and its relation to the programs of the CAC. 

  • The review will be conducted within four weeks of submission deadline. All applicants will receive notice on their application status by the end of June 2025. All decisions are final. 

  • Once the jury has met, additional exhibits may be selected by the Exhibition Committee dependent upon available space.

Conditions of Exhibition
The selected artist will be responsible for the shipping/transport of work to and from CAC. All special equipment and/or display materials will be supplied by the artist. If the artist does not have this equipment or materials CAC will make their best efforts to assist in procuring them.

Chester Art Centre will supply:

 

  • Artist fees/honorarium

  • Opening reception

  • Colour promotional materials

  • Inclusion in CAC publicity

  • Personnel to invigilate the show during the exhibition’s open hours (we do encourage artists to invigilate as well and promote these times with their audience).
